My students need a variety of living organisms and science kits, including a Glofish aquarium kit and fish, a butterfly kit, plant seeds, and a pebble pack.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Picture books represents organisms but nothing beats the real deal!
My students come from low-income families living in an urban setting.
They have limited experiences with nature and are challenged with understanding animals and their behavior in a natural environment. They are multi-sensory learners and picture books (no matter how vivid) are still 2 dimensional representations.
My Project
The Bio kits that I requested will definitely impact my student's learning. They will be face to face with live creatures: larva, caterpillar, cocoons, butterflies and fresh water fishes. The opportunity to be up close and personal with these animals will open their minds into exploring, observing, analyzing animal behavior in a fun and interactive way. My students need a variety of living organisms and science kits. I have requested, a Glofish aquarium kit and fish, a butterfly kit, plant seeds, and a pebble pack.
By making your donations, you will impact how my students will learn science objectives in my classroom by leaps and bounds.
I believe that students will learn more about animals by interacting with them.
