This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are adventurous and energetic. They love the outdoors and want to explore the opportunities our valley brings them. Many students have the desire and will to explore our mountains but they don't have the resources to get them there. A good number of my students would embrace the opportunity to ski or snowboard and utilize our mountains if they had a little support.

My Project

Our school's Crew program provides opportunities for students to grow and develop character skills such as teamwork and compassion. The student ski trip is an opportunity for all students to experience a sport that many of us love for years to come.

Adventure, teamwork and compassion is the outcome of this unique experience.

All kids, regardless of their upbringing, can feel joy through adventure and learn skills that can foster healthy life skills.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for many of our students. They will learn to navigate the mountain, interact with generous ski instructors and ski patrol and utilize compassion as they learn how to ski or snowboard.
