Live, Learn, Math: Empowering Students Everywhere

Help me give my students notebooks, folders and other supplies they need to support their math journey, virtually, and during field experiences. They will use the cameras for live feeds and to minimize learning gaps.

My Project

All of our students want to feel seen, supported, and successful in their learning, whether they’re in the classroom or not. With high levels of absenteeism due to personal and family challenges, many of our students miss out on key instruction and fall behind, not because they don’t care, but because life gets in the way. These supplies, especially the cameras, will help remove that barrier.

In class, the cameras will provide a private live feed of lessons for students who are absent, allowing them to stay connected and engaged without feeling left behind.

It’s more than just catching up, it’s about making them feel like they still belong. Knowing they have access to the day’s lesson encourages them to return without shame or fear of missing too much.

The action camera will give students access to our "City as a Classroom" field experiences, even when they can’t attend in person. Those who go on trips will use the camera to capture the experience through their own lens, letting others see what’s possible and get inspired to join the next one. These city trips open students' eyes to college, careers, culture, and community connections they might not otherwise experience.

The composition notebooks will be used for note-taking in an interactive way.

The folders will support students by establishing an organized system to help them stay on track and receive feedback.

My students are great kids. They are thoughtful, curious, and full of potential. They deserve the best opportunities to access the education that is rightfully theirs. These tools will help level the playing field, strengthen their connection to school, and remind them that learning can happen anywhere, especially when someone believes in them.
