My Students

I teach in a K-5 elementary building. Our students are inquisitive and ask thought-provoking questions with supportive parents. Typically most students who enroll in kindergarten spend their entire elementary career within our school. We are a school that prides itself on PBIS implementation and the home-school relationship. My school has also recently implemented AVID, which places emphasis on college and career readiness.

All of these support systems allow students to feel welcome, valued, and more willing to learn.

We are raising lifelong learners at my school!

My Project

My name is Ariana Colletti and I am a high school student and a Girl Scout. My Girl Scout Gold Award project is to breathe life into my local elementary school library. The Girl Scout Gold Award, it is the highest and most prestigious award a Girl Scout can earn. It is equivalent to the Eagle Scout of Boy Scouts. It typically spans 1-2 years, requires approximately 80 hours of work towards the project, and fewer than 6% of all Girl Scouts earn the Gold Award. Unlike a community service project, the Gold Award must drive a lasting change in the community, have a potential of national or global impact and must be measurable and sustainable after the project's completion. It is a lifelong merit honor.

Ms Godefroid is my past teacher and my mentor.

She is a current teacher at Lindsay Elementary. She was my 4th and 5th grade English teacher and my 5th grade homeroom teacher. She has been instrumental in my academic career and I have maintained a relationship with her through middle school and now into high school.

Lindsay Elementary has a beautiful library with large windows with views both into the school and outside the building. The space is large with classic style bookshelves, basic school chairs, and recently received a large donation of brand new books. This sterile environment makes it the perfect blank canvas to provide the students of Lindsay Elementary with a bright and comfortable learning and reading space.

I plan to bring in window and wall decals, new flexible seating options, sensory items and bright bookshelves. The bookshelves with be dedicated to each of the classrooms in the building, in rotation, for the students and teachers to make recommendations to their fellow schoolmates.
