My students need iPads to record video for classroom projects and performances. Using iMovie software and Garageband software to edit video, compose music, students will create professional videos on current topics.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students at West Rocks love technology. Many of them do not have access to computers at their home. We try to incorporate technology into every subject to get students interested. They love to be creative and share their work with their peers and family.
In Technology Education and Electronic Music, we are using iPads and Mac based software to create video segments similar to those of a TV news show.
Students are producing, directing, editing, and composing music for their segments on various topics. We are preparing students the Digital Media Pathway at NHS.
In Chorus and Drama, we will be using the ipads to record concerts and individual performances. Students can then view the performance to evaluate themselves and the group. It is also a great way for teachers to offer feedback. We used video to record auditions for Drama club. This proved useful for casting.
My Project
Currently we have access to 2 iPads for a full class. We want to be able to offer more students the opportunity to work with technology during every class. Right now, we rotate groups and take turns. Having more iPads would allow more students to be engaged in class. When students are not using the technology, they often lose interest.
Can you imagine trying to share an iPad with 5 to 6 students at a time?
It is difficult to keep all students engaged when that many are trying to share. In Chorus, we could be recording more students and performances with more access to the equipment to do so. We also will be using the iPads for stage management during Drama. We Facetime from the Sound Booth to backstage to give cues during our shows.
