This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Duplo Legos can be anything a child can imagine. Our plan is to use Duplo in STEM station challenges that build creative thinking, problem solving, and collaboration skills in our students - all while having tons of fun!
How would you help a Lego person get across a river safely?
You might think of a bridge, or maybe a boat? What about an airplane or a catapult!
Open-ended challenges allow our students to bring every ounce of their creativity to a fun and engaging activity - and Duplo Legos are the foundation of these challenges.
Your donation will bring this long-loved toy into the classroom and allow students for years to come to engage with fun and educational activities that challenge their thinking and allow for mistakes! Students design and build their idea, try it out, and then make it better. While this practice has served engineers for years - it's often a pretty new idea for our students. Perseverance is a powerful thing - and these activities build that, too.
Thank you for bringing this amazing opportunity to my students - and for supporting an amazing education for every kid!
