My Students
My students day is full of fine motor work. We write our letters, numbers and even stories. Kindergarten students often come to school with little fine motor skills. So I am always looking for ideas for my students to do in order to practice this important skill.
My students come from low economic homes where fine motor skills are not practiced.
My school also does not have the funds to provide a variety of fun and creative ways to practice this important skill. I am often times hunting for great ideas to help my students master this skill so their writing, coloring and cutting looks great.
My Project
My kindergartners love to explore and create in many different ways. The sand and water table will be a great addition to their station time. The variety of sand will help them not only explore but help their sensory skills by touching and playing with the different textures. The materials to include sift and find number and alphabet shells will help them use their motor skills to manipulate the water and sand in creative ways. I know they will not only practice their motor skills but will have a fun time exploring.
The addition of the sand and water table will enhance my station time.
This time of day is for using the skills we learn in class in an independent and creative way. The table and the manipulatives that I have requested will add excitement to their time at stations. Plus they will working those fine motor skills they significantly need to be successful writers, colorers and cutters.
