Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My class consists of 27 second-graders who have a thirst for knowledge and crave learning. My students know that I have high expectations of each of them, and they try their best to meet my expectations at every turn. That's what I love about them! They understand that going the extra yard will help them be successful. That's why our class is called, "TCB" which stands for taking care of business!

My dynamic second-grade students are resilient and continue to persevere despite their circumstances.

My Project

The At-Home Learning Kits will make a big difference in my students' academic lives. These kits are based on the 5 early literacy practices of Every Child Ready to Read. Many of my scholars are struggling readers. The activities in these kits are designed to help my scholars develop the skills necessary to learn to read or to improve their reading skills.

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase my students abilities to read, write, and speak, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement levels.
