My Students
Participating in a variety of art experiences is important in the development of young children.
I teach a prekindergarten class in a Title 1, low income public school.
In order to be accepted into our program, each student went through a screening process and all have been deemed "educationally at-risk". Many of my students come from low-income families and qualify for free or reduced lunch.
My Project
My class loves to create art, and they especially love to paint pictures. Our classroom does not have the space to house a regular easel and separate drying rack. Since we have limited space, it is necessary for us to have a combination art easel with drying rack to allow students to have space to paint. Fortunately, another teacher has been kind enough to loan us her space saver art easel for the present school year. However, when she needs it back, my students will be without this valuable resource. My students need the Space-Saver Mobile Art Center.
Painting at an easel helps develop eye-hand coordination, fine motor skills, and hand and arm strength.
This in turn assists with my young students' development in many other areas, especially writing. Your donation will help reinforce these basic motor skills. Thank you for considering my proposal.
