My Project
The use of hands-on manipulatives can help bridge the learning gaps for my second graders and support their reading and writing skills.
During small-group centers, utilizing hands on materials such as reading books, writing journals, will help reinforce the whole group instruction lessons taught at the individual student's pace.
The multisensory manipulatives will help the students to stay focus and motivated them to learn.
These instructional resources will allow the students to interact with the materials and make mistakes as they know practically. The students will also be engaged in problem-solving strategies.
Your support will contribute to the social and emotional support of my students. Some of my students have not been in school since the pandemic. After a year of distance learning and homeschooling, many students lack collaborative and social skills. Exploring hands-on materials will support the social development of all my students, but mostly my English Language Learners, by providing opportunities to socialize in small groups as the students will collaborate in their Reading, Listening, and teacher-led centers.
