This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Classroom libraries provide our littlest learners with a special gathering place to read. I would like to create a child friendly library with our favorite childhood books. The classic hardcover books will be the perfect addition to our little classroom library. Children love to read their favorite books over and over. They enjoy sharing them with their friends. Our library softbound books are falling apart from all the love they have received. Adding new hardcover books to our little classroom library will bring our favorite books back for us to enjoy! Hardcover books are so important when little hands are reading them daily. My students get so excited to find the book that we have read together as a class in their library. The students shout, "Look, look, I found the book Mrs. Cantillo read to us!" And they all come running to share the book. Then it turns into their new favorite book. I truly enjoy watching my students interact in the library. I love to see them snuggled up and reading together. I love to see them sharing their favorite books with each other. I love to hear their laughs and giggles when they are reading their favorite books. I can't wait to add our favorite books back to our little library and let the reading adventures begin! When you give a child a book you open their eyes to a whole new world!
