My second-grade students are creative with vivid imaginations that love to learn outside of a textbook. They have goals of being scientists, engineers, athletes, teachers, and doctors. In the classroom, we have a wide range of students who are hands-on and visual learners. We differentiate our academic activities, but we need materials that allow us to differentiate our creative learning environment. My students need a way to take their designs and bring them to life.

My Project
My students love to use their imagination and create new things. We would like to add materials and tools to our Maker Space in our classroom. This would allow all students to explore, test, create, problem solve and analyze. These materials, like foam pieces, pom poms, and masking tape will direct the students in their own learning by allowing them to delve into topics that they need to learn about to make their project successful.
These tools will allow my students to build robots, puppet shows, vehicles, and real world inspired projects.
I want my students to know that their education and ideas are important. Our Maker Space will be a great place for students to come and create with craft materials, circuits, or cardboard building materials.
