This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a first-year kindergarten teacher, I’m building my classroom from the ground up for a group of bright, curious, and energetic learners who are just beginning their school journey. I want their first classroom experience to be filled with joy, discovery, and confidence—and that starts with having the right tools in place.

The items I’ve selected will support a wide range of learning moments throughout our day.

The standing whiteboards will be key during whole group instruction and small group or one-on-one support, allowing me to model lessons and give students space to share their thinking in real time. Expo markers and pens help bring writing and math alive, while copy paper is a daily necessity for student practice and creative activities. Math manipulatives will provide hands-on learning support as we build early numeracy skills, and our “First Day of Kindergarten” book will help ease those first-day jitters with smiles and storytime.

By supporting this project, you’ll help give my students a strong and supported start to their learning journey—and a classroom they can be proud of.
