This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In my preschool classroom, big feelings happen every day—joy, frustration, excitement, sadness, and everything in between. My students are still learning how to understand and express their emotions, and I want to give them the tools to do it in a healthy way.

That’s why I’m asking for books about feelings and visual emotion charts.

Many of my little ones struggle to find the right words when they’re upset or overwhelmed. A simple picture chart can help them point to how they feel, making communication easier. Books with engaging stories can show them that all feelings are okay and teach them ways to handle tough emotions.

My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where every child feels understood. I want to help them recognize emotions in themselves and others, build empathy, and learn self-regulation skills that will serve them for life.

My students are curious, kind, and eager to learn—but some of them need extra support in understanding emotions. Whether it’s a child with anxiety, one who struggles with change, or one who’s still learning to use words instead of actions, these resources will make a real difference.
