Help me give my students a writing center desk which will provide them with a developmentally age-appropriate table to practice early writing skills with spaces to store writing center materials for easy and organized access.

My PA PreK Counts students love to enhance their fine motor, writing and literacy skills during our daily work center times. They get the opportunity in our classroom writing center to explore many writing tools, such as pencils, markers, colored pencils, thick crayons, alphabet/number stampers, dry erase boards, tracing cards, rulers, envelopes, various types of paper, stickers for "mailing stamps", etc. Unfortunately, we currently do not have an adequate piece of child-friendly, safe furniture for our students to use as a writing center.
All of our students reside in an economically challenged, urban area and qualify for enrollment in our free program since they live at or below the PA poverty level based on the state guidelines.
Many of our students do not have access to quality learning materials and/or positive learning experiences outside of our classroom community. They are provided through our non-profit preschool program with a quality education through state approved early childhood curriculums taught by state certified early childhood teachers and trained classroom support personnel. All enrolled children also receive daily breakfast and lunch, health screenings, cognitive and behavioral screenings, and early intervention services for special needs.
Any donations will be greatly appreciated!
We are in need of a writing center desk because our students currently do not have a piece of furniture to practice pre-writing skills and store writing materials for their independent use. Although COVID is still at a very high rate in our area, we continue to have class in person in our school setting 5 days a week, 6 hours a day for 20 preschool students who live at or below state poverty guidelines. This is the only opportunity that many of our children learn necessary skills for a positive transition to kindergarten and further academic success. Our children will utilize this writing center desk during our "work" center times. "Work" times provide children with opportunities in classroom centers to learn through play, how children learn best, by engaging with hands-on materials independently and cooperatively with their peers and the staff. We would be most grateful to anyone who would help us with trying to make our writing center the best that it can be for our little learners who are the world's future. Who knows? You may be part of the process of inspiring a great author of the future!
