Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

"Read, read, read and no TV; that's right!" is what we chant when we're beginning and ending our school days. I teach a curriculum that requires a high level of creativity, based on the inquiry of the students. The students that I have the pleasure to shape and mold into life long preschool learners are three years old. My school morale is one that is energetic and highly outgoing in a community that faces extreme levels of poverty and grief. The students are the keys to unlock dreams that were deferred.

"Sand, sand, sand please don't go away...we're not able to get to a beach won't you come back to play." We have no supplies in order to allow my students to experience the wonders of sand and water play. Many of my 15 total students have not had the opportunity to develop the creativity that can emerge through sand and water play.

The items that we need are a sand and water table with lid along with the two, twenty-five boxes of white sand and the four art easels. This will serve and benefit the lives of my students by allowing us to create a K-W-L (what they know, what they want to know, and what they've learned) chart of creativity that swarms around sand and water play.

You will make it possible for my students to enjoy a fun day in the sun by helping us with this project. Your help will ensure that each student will gain the experience of exciting creativity that occurs during sand and water play. Your generosity will also allow my students to extend their sand and water play by creating pieces of art using the portable art stands we need.
