My Project
The children in my classroom will benefit from the various fine motor materials in this project. They will use the playdough, magnetic manipulative items, STEM materials, puzzles and other items to reinforce their fine motor muscle development.
Fine motor muscle development is the foundation for pre-writing and writing skills.
Preschool children acquire these skills through use of small building and manipulative items, such as those in this project. Along with fine motor muscle development, other skills will be reinforced with the letters and numbers found in the materials such as the letter, number and shape puzzles, the number and letter ice pops, the letter locks and other items.
As children enjoy building with their hands, they will be asked questions to enhance their learning with materials chosen in this project. As educators we take advantage of every opportunity to teach children while they are engaged in play.
