Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My preschool students are curious, creative, and full of energy. Every day, they explore the world around them with their hands building, stacking, pinching, lacing, and more. To support their growing independence and development, I want to provide them with engaging manipulatives that build fine motor strength, coordination, and control.
These materials will not only support foundational skills like pre-writing, self-care, and concentration, but also make learning fun!
When little hands get busy, big learning happens.
I teach a classroom full of vibrant, enthusiastic littles who come from a wide range of backgrounds. Many of my students are experiencing school for the very first time, and I strive to make it a joyful, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate experience. Hands-on learning is a cornerstone of our day.
To enhance our fine motor work, I am requesting puzzles, counters, tweezer tongs and a variety of building blocks.
These items will be used daily in centers, small group work, and during calm-down or exploration times. They’ll help my students strengthen the tiny muscles that support writing, cutting, dressing, and more.
Early fine motor skills are a strong predictor of later academic achievement. By providing engaging, developmentally appropriate tools, I can help my students build the foundation they need for future success in school and in life.
