Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Playing in an early childhood setting is extremely important. In a classroom and school setting, play isn’t always a key factor. So when play can provide not only fun, but also learning, it’s a great combination! Currently, my students get to use STEM bins to play for the first 15 minutes of our day, but our selection is minimal.

STEM bins provide students a chance to practice problem solving, improve creativity, and build critical thinking skills.

Providing my students with these other STEM activities can help build important skills like communication and community building. STEM bins will also help develop fine motor skills which are necessary for things like cutting and pencil holding.
