Little Hands - Big Minds, Becoming Smarter, Together!
My students need science tools and learning materials to explore plants, bugs and life cycles. We are asking for a science supply center and life cycle kit, a light table, specimen sets, and more!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
You can feel the energy when you walk into the classroom. My preschoolers love hands-on learning and exploring their world! The smiles and hugs from the 4 and 5 year old's warm my heart and everyone's around them!
Many of my students come from single parent households or are raised by grandparents or family members.
I also have ELL students in my classroom. A large majority of my students come from low income homes. They face many challenges in their lives before they even get on the bus. My goal as their teacher is to create an environment for my students where they feel loved and supported!
My Project
The best thing about our classroom is that the students get to choose what they want to learn about. I base our themes around my students' interest! Themes vary from class to class and year to year. This year my students loves hands-on, science activities, learning about animals and our world. So far we have studied the ocean, space, winter, and pets. We will be learning all about weather, bugs, plants and spring in April. The materials I have chosen will help us learn about spring and create opportunists for my students to learn through their own experiences. The materials we are asking for are allowing for this. The specimen sets and light table will allow them to look at bugs up close. The science supply kit will give us all new tools to explore with! The growing kits will allow us to watch nature up close and personal!
This donation will provide opportunities for my students to learn that we wouldn't otherwise have.
We do not have many resources in the school to purchase new learning materials. Thank you for helping my preschoolers grow smarter, together!
