This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are some of the most determined, creative, and kindhearted children you will ever meet. They come to school every day ready to learn and grow, even when facing challenges both in and outside the classroom. As a special education teacher in a Title 1 school, I see firsthand how a lack of resources can stand in the way of their incredible potential. Basic supplies like pencils, paper, and hygiene items help us meet their daily needs with dignity and care. Cleaning supplies keep our classroom a safe and healthy place for them to thrive. Because we do not receive a science curriculum, science kits will open up a world of hands-on exploration and discovery that they would otherwise miss out on. And board games will give them opportunities for joyful learning — building social skills, teamwork, and critical thinking in ways that feel like pure fun. Every item donated helps create a classroom where my students feel supported, inspired, and proud of their accomplishments.
