This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As an educator, I am constantly seeking innovative ways to enrich my students' learning experiences, and I firmly believe that a hands-on approach to education is the key to fostering growth, curiosity, and responsibility in young minds. Our classroom gardening project is not merely about planting seeds and watching them grow; it is about cultivating a deeper understanding of nature and sustainability.

This garden is not just a plot of land; it is a living tribute to a beloved staff member who tragically lost his life to COVID-19 in 2020.

Through this project, we seek to honor his memory and celebrate his enduring impact on not just our school, but our entire community.

What makes our students special is their boundless curiosity, enthusiasm, and eagerness to learn. They come from diverse backgrounds and bring a wealth of experiences and perspectives to our classroom.

Our goals for this project extend beyond the boundaries of the classroom. We aim to create a nurturing environment where students can cultivate not only plants but also their own potential. By fostering a love for gardening and nature, we hope to instill values of responsibility, resilience, and empathy in our students.
