Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our class is brand new. We started with 4 students in January 2019 and now we are at 14. My class consist of 4 beautiful girls and 10 handsome little fellas. My littles are 3-5 years old with moderate to severe disabilities, 5 of them also have a diagnosis of autism. They are full of joy and enjoy playing in our dramatic play area.They are in the beginning stages of pretend play and learning how to play with peers.

My Project

The materials will make a huge difference in how they learn. My student enjoy playing in our dramatic play area. The new realistic costumes and mirror will help my students engage in pretend play, socialization and communication. They will be able to add adventure in the their make believe world. The mirror will also help with self identification and recognizing their body parts. They will be able to label and identify clothing, share, take turns, and help one another. We will also work on labeling emotion and making silly, sad, and happy faces in the mirror. They will learn to be silly, laugh, and have fun.
