Little Explorers: Learning Through Read Alouds

My Project

Read Alouds are such a fun learning tool to introduce new topics to students and explore different ways to learn through reading. I incorporate read alouds often in my classroom as a way to introduce a new concept, explore print concepts, give students a break from heavy thinking, and to practice SEL topics like respect and kindness.

The right read aloud book can change a lesson into a huge success!

I love incorporating stories like the Supplies on Strike series into my beginning of the year lessons to help students learn to treat their supplies well. Read Alouds are also fun to use in science lessons when learning about the solar system or animals and habitats. I have started a collection of read aloud stories and these will be a perfect addition to my classroom library. I can't wait to use these books to teach students in new and exciting ways.
