My Students
My kindergarten students love to learn! They come to school each day eager to learn new things while also loving the structure and routine of the school day. Kindergartners love all sorts of hands-on activities. Technology is just one of those activities that they love. My students get so excited when they get a chance to participate in using technology.
My students enter kindergarten in a variety of stages.
I have those who have had multiple years of preschool and those who have had no school experience. Sometimes it is hard to differentiate all activities. The use of technology is just one of the ways I can help differentiate instruction.
My Project
Kindergarten is a time for learning and exploring new things. Kindergarten is a crucial time in a child's development. More and more the exploring and playing is being pushed aside for assessments. I want to encourage creativity while also incorporating STEM concepts.
STEM Bins will encourage imagination, exploration, creativity.
I will use STEM Bins during station time. Station time is when students are able to rotate through different activities independently to reinforce and practice skills on their level. Station time is always my students favorite part of the day.
Through encouraging STEM activities, students will also develop and learn many other crucial skills in literacy, cooperation, and thinking outside the box.
