Little Engineers, Big Community Solutions

Help me give my students LEGO bricks, modeling clay, tablet styluses, and Microbit coding kits so they can imagine, build, and test their ideas while tackling real-world problems through STEM.

FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Palmer's classroom raised $861

My Project

My students are curious, creative problem-solvers who learn best when they can explore, build, and experiment. Across grades K–5 at F.L. Stanton Elementary, students are energized by hands-on learning and love activities that let them bring their ideas to life.

The materials in this project will allow students to tackle real-world problems through Project-Based Learning (PBL).

The Micro:bit coding kits will help students in grades 3–5 design solutions for challenges like water pollution, urban flooding, and “smart” systems that improve communities. The styluses for iPads will allow all students to participate fully in digital activities, from designing to documenting their ideas. The LEGOs, clay, and craft sticks will support younger students as they build toys for children in need, create safe spaces for animals, and design inclusive playgrounds.

What I love most about my students is that they want to learn by doing, and they want to solve problems that matter. With these tools, they will develop teamwork, creativity, and critical thinking skills while seeing themselves as engineers, coders, scientists, and designers. These resources will help every student connect their curiosity to meaningful action and show them that their ideas can make a real difference.
