My Students

I have seen such an amazing shift in education since i began teaching in 2004. I am so excited to see students engaged in projects involving Math, Science, Technology and engineering or (STEM projects) I am anxious to find ways to engage my Kindergarten students in new problem solving and teamwork.

My school has an extremely high percentage of students who need exposure to technology.

It is a low income area and many students are excited to come to school and use technology. Many people think that since I work with 5 year olds they can't possibly use technology to problem solve and document ideas and results. I was extremely surprised at just how engaged students are during these experiences.

My Project

I have many great science and math problem solving activities I want to engage my students in this year. Students will have the opportunity to work in teams to work through problems and document their process with digital cameras. Then teams will share their experiences with their classmates.

Everyday our students are proving that they live in a new era of education.

I truly believe that if we begin to give our students meaningful experiences with problem solving and cooperation involving technology, we are preparing them to be productive members and thinkers in this new century.
