This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"The only source of knowledge is experience, " Albert Einstein said, so please help my students discover the knowledge of science through experience!

My students are quite amazing, if you ask me.

Most of them deal with many struggles at home, but yet come to school every day ready to learn. My students attend a low economic school. About 98% of the students that attend our school district are on the free or reduced rate lunch program. Most of my students are from a single-parent home, and lack the ability to buy basic school supplies!

My Project

I have requested materials to help my students discover science. The materials include: a science resource book, science songs cd, butterfly gardens, frog kit, weather charts, seed planting sets, and life cycles of plants and animals sets. These resources will help my students learn about science by directly watching and doing experiments.

This project will have a tremendous impact on our science curriculum.

Right now science is taught through a textbook, but I want my students to be able to experiment and watch it first hand. The students will have a better understanding of our science standards and the world around us!
