My students are a fun and diverse group of children! Though, for many, the time they spend at school is the most reliable and stable part of their day. But, despite the struggles some of these children may face at home, they embrace learning with arms wide open! They help make teaching so much fun. Our class is just like a family, we love each other, we learn from each other and we want to take care of each other, and we are able to do that by creating an environment where they feel safe and free to explore and learn.
My Project
We would love your support to help our classroom get the materials needed for our listening center. We currently have a reading center in our classroom, however our students struggle with engagement because most of them are not able to independently read on their own yet. We are asking for a listening center that comes with headphones and connectors for up to six students to listen at a time. This will allow our students to have a choice to either listen to a book of their choice with friends, or read a book independently. We have also asked for a mobile listening center and storage bins for our books and cds. This will help us keep our CD player, connectors, head sets, and books in great condition, so they can be used for many years to come! If this project is fully funded it can help the students in my class gain more experiences with reading each day. Children who are exposed to language and reading at a young age usually prove to be good readers later. If you donate to our project, you will be giving my students the tools and resources they need to grow into the readers they are capable of being. We work very hard each day to reach these goals, but you can help get us there by simply donating.
