Help me give my students a love of learning through developmentally appropriate literacy!

Kindergarten is such a thrilling year! As I became acclimated with my new class, their families, and the entire community, I have quickly come to realize that we all have the same goal in mind: success.
My students are curious, vibrant, and so excited about all that we have to learn this year!
When thinking about our learning goals on the first day of school, one of my students sighed in agony and practically shouted, "I just CAN'T WAIT to read a chapter book!" and another expressed an interest in being able to "add up to a billion." Although we may giggle at their implausible goals, their aspirations are inspiring... I can't wait for those moments either.
Every child in my class is fabulously unique, but all kindergarten students learn best when actively engaged with the lessons and materials being taught. My students thrive during hands-on activities. Who doesn't want to see our students thrive?
My students need a listening center! Research has shown that following along to stories read-aloud greatly improves students' reading as it models fluency, accuracy, and expression at a steady rate. All of these components are so important to engaging students in the adventures of texts. Helping to fund this project would allow small groups of students to listen to stories read aloud to them while following along with the words on the page.
My students love listening to stories!
Listening and reading independently will allow students to really embrace a love of reading to carry with them into the future!
