it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Ready to help us hatch some baby chicks?
I have been teaching 1st grade for 3 years. This year will be my first year teaching 2nd grade. The school I teach in is located in a low income area and I think my students would absolutely love this opportunity.
I have been planning my units based on the 2nd grade curriculum. One of the units I would like to teach my students is the life cycle of chicks. I would like the opportunity to teach my students the responsibility of preparing the eggs and watching them hatch into chicks. Students will be very motivated and engaged during this process. I plan to assign my students specific responsibilities in the preparation and hatching process. I would like to incorporate this unit with reading, writing and math. We will be doing many activities that are centered around the chicks.
For this project, we will need an incubator to store the eggs while they are getting ready to hatch. There are a few other supplies we will need, however I am very willing to provide those. The incubator will be kept at school and appreciated by everyone in the classroom!
Close your eyes, picture the smiles you will bring to the faces of everyone in our classroom! We will even name a chick after you and send you a picture!
