My Students

When I think of Pre-K, I think of a room filled with bright colors, beautiful posters, shapes, a large comfy rug, and of course, lots of toys! Pre-K is such a memorable year of childhood that is filled with memories that last for a lifetime.

My students are an eager bunch of four year-olds, that are so excited to learn each day.

With our first month of school in the books, my students are finally secured in our daily routines, and have adjusted phenomenally to their first public school experience. Our school has an immediate warm feeling that is vital to a new group of young students. Adjusting to a new school can be hard, but when there are many friendly faces who are always willing to lend a helping hand, this big transition can occur smoothly.

My Project

With a MacBook, my students will be able to use the beneficial applications only available to Mac users. The endless amount of virtual art apps that are out there are amazing for my young learners. The MacBook will allow me to connect the computer to our SmartBoard, which will then give the students the opportunity to create art right there on the board. Students will be able to share their artwork with their peers, display it to the whole class, or be granted the option to print out their creations. This technology not only will help my students in the area of the arts, but in all aspects of their learning.

This project will make such a huge impact on my students, because they are so curious and interested in the arts.

At this age, many 4 year olds have experience with some form of technology at home. Expanding their minds to the incorporation of art and technology will only further this learning. This project can help students express their imagination through virtual art, at the same time open many doors for endless learning.
