My Students

My kindergarten students are from a small rural school in south-central Indiana. A lot of them have ridden in a tractor before they even step into kindergarten! They are excited to be at school and eager to learn! They are kinesthetic and visual learners who show excitement with each new concept or skill they learn! With each new letter or sound we learn, they thirst for even more knowledge. They bring an enormous amount of energy and love into our classroom.

My Project

Paint and construction paper are a kindergartener’s best friend! These materials will be used to engage my young learners in creating works of art that they can be proud of! While creating artwork, they will also work on their fine motor skills and learn about different artistic techniques. But more importantly, they will be able to have a more hands-on learning experience! Every time my students see me get out our paints (which is often, and in turn, means that we go through them rather quickly), their eyes light up with wonder and excitement! I really enjoy seeing their individual personality and character come through in their unique creations!
