This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The beauty of teaching 25 Kindergartners is seeing them blossom as the months pass. I start off with students not being able to write their names and end up writing sentences. Even though there are many obstacles against them they do not let them slow them from learning.

My Project

I have a group of artists in my Kindergarten class; they love to express themselves through art. Education is changing every single day, and so are the interests of my students. Students in my classroom like to create art, so I incorporate art in my lessons to make the content more interesting and to engage every student.

Incorporating art gives the students the ability to demonstrate their comprehension and thinking.

Not all students are readers and writers at age 5, so giving them the opportunity to demonstrate what they know through art is very crucial in my class.

The canvas will allow them to easily display their art work they have been working on. The glitter and popsicle sticks will help them give texture to finish their masterpieces.
