My Students

I can't take credit for this quote but I love it- "Earth without art would just be "eh." This is how I truly feel and I hope my students will feel the same!

I teach art to second and third graders.

This is a new position for me, having been a classroom teacher for years. I am excited to teach art in my wonderful school. My school is located in a large city, but it has a cozy neighborhood feel. The students come from all over the world, and many are English language learners. I love working in such a culturally diverse environment.

My Project

My students need water color paint sets, paintbrushes, paint trays, oil pastels, and chalk pastels. I envision my art classroom full of busy, noisy, happy students. I will be teaching them all kinds of art and art techniques, and a special focus will be tying the visual arts into the social studies curriculum. I plan to expose the children to many art materials and teach them about famous artists from all over the world.

I am thrilled to be teaching art, but I am creating this classroom from scratch!

Art supplies are necessary and will allow me to instruct my students, foster their creativity, and make them feel good about themselves as artists!
