This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love that my students bring diverse perspectives, vibrant personalities, and a strong sense of resilience to our classroom each day. They’re curious, creative, and eager to see themselves reflected in what they read.

That’s why I’ve chosen Real Women Have Curves—a story that speaks directly to themes of identity, body image, cultural expectations, and self-worth.

This book will not only engage them as readers, but also spark meaningful conversations about who they are and who they want to become.

By providing literature that mirrors their lived experiences, I can help build their confidence, encourage critical thinking, and foster a classroom environment rooted in empathy and empowerment.
