This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Let's nurture the love for reading! Having our students read good literature will allow for them to fall in love with reading and go on amazing adventures with every great book they read!
I have an amazing third grade class who loves to learn!
They are in a Dual Language class which means that they are biliterate and learn all subjects in both Spanish and English. They are a combination of native and nonnative English speakers. This means that although the majority of my students are Latino, I have some students who are Asian, Pilipino, African-American, and Caucasian. It is great to see how well these students perform in both languages.
My Project
Technology is a great thing. Students have so many resources and learning opportunities thanks to technology. However, reading an actual book and enjoying great literature is becoming a thing of the past. If we have an amazing book to read as a class, I will be able to expose the students to the beauty of literature and the ability to get lost in an adventure.
I plan on making a connection between reading Charlotte's Web and our Spider Science Unit.
This will be great for students so that they understand that all subjects can be intertwined and that Science is everywhere, even in a novel.
