Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Can you imagine growing up in your home without books to read? My students are reading below grade level and I want to be able to provide them with a variety of books to build their confidence in reading. I want them to lose themselves in the books they are reading.
I am a teacher at a Title I school in North Carolina where the majority of our students receive free and reduced lunch.
Many of my students are not able to afford books to read on their level. My goal is to guide them to love reading and grow as readers while learning.
My Project
I am requesting a leveled library with levels N-V, which includes 5 books on each level. Your contributions to our classroom leveled library will provide my students with skills and strategies to comprehend and become successful readers. Through the classroom library, students will have an increased vocabulary and writing skills. These books will help my students develop a love for reading that will last a lifetime.
The donation to our classroom library will afford my students the opportunity to have hands-on reading materials on their level and build their reading confidence.
The ability to read will help my students soar as future scholars.
