My students need to be exposed to literature that is integrated with math. These fiction and non-fiction books will help bring a specific math skill to life.
I have the privilege to teach in a 2nd grade inclusion ESE/general education classroom. My students come in ready and excited to learn.
My class is a community of life long learners that I get to invest in everyday.
My students are at different academic levels with different abilities. There is differentiated instruction being taught throughout the day so that each child is learning on their level. My students are curious, adventurous, and love to explore. They are total rock stars!
My Project
Math centers are a daily routine in my classroom. These fiction and non-fiction math books will be placed in a math center for groups of students to read. This will help teach and emphasize the math subject that is being taught and/or be a good review of a skill that was previously taught.
These math books will be a fun and interactive way for students to see, listen, read, and understand math concepts in a real-life situation or in a fun and humorous way.
This presentation of math is a different, engaging, and unique way to bring math to life.
My students need a variety of different math books to go with each skill and domain that I teach. These books cover many of the math skills that we teach, such as: measurement, place value, even/odd, addition, subtraction, and money. These math books are a tangible way for students to grasp each skill.
