My Project

My students are adventurers, storytellers, mountain movers, language artists, future leaders, creative spirits, world changers, and critical thinkers. They love writing and escaping into stories to learn more about themselves and others to build a more compassionate community. They are my heart.

Books can be windows into the lives of others as well as mirrors that help students see and understand themselves.

I am hoping to stock my classroom library with books that allow students to learn more about themselves and others while escaping into literature. These books (which contain authors from/tell the stories of a wide array of cultures, time periods, socioeconomic backgrounds, etc) will help students expand their empathy and feel represented themselves as they read.
