My Students

Currently I am working in a Special Education classroom with a group of students aging anywhere from second grade to sixth grade. The students I work with are incredible individuals with a variety of strengths. They have made my first year of teaching a great experience so far.

For many of my students, reading is difficult, which is why I want to provide them with opportunities to become better readers and also start believing in their own abilities.

I am hoping with this project, my students can begin to grow their confidence while developing a love for reading along the way.

My Project

My original project, Readers are Leaders, was so successful, I was able to apply the leftover money to this new project. With my second project, Literature Essentials, I am now able to supply more day-to-day use items. I will use them to enhance my students' reading abilities on a daily basis. My students are all on individualized learning plans, so I will be able to use these materials to customize their learning for what works best for them.

I will be using materials such as reading comprehension games, sight word practice activities, and leveled book activities in order for my students to grow their reading abilities.
