My Students

My classroom is diverse, but not just in the way you might initially think. I feel like more than ever, my students are at extremes. Some kids only light up when we discuss sports. One student seems laser focused on drawing cars. One student is dead set on memorizing all of the tarot cards and I am having a difficult time finding common ground in my classroom.

My classroom has tons of personality and interesting points of view to say the least.

My Project

This holiday break, I had the epiphany that I need to do lit circles in my classroom. I have so many different interests and abilities in my classroom. I need to be able to group my students by ability AND interest AND connect it to the them of survival. I already have a plan for the project to culminate in a discussion with mentors and leaders in my school.

I need more titles to give me the flexibility to effectively group my students.

I want each group to have a book that is unique to their literature circle and interesting to that group of students.
