Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Having the technology I need in the classroom will help me to create lesson plans and slides to share with the class, and facilitate presenting on the Smartboard. This access to tech will help to make lessons more interactive and create fluid transitions between my curriculum and learning goals for the students and questions, visual prompts, and the presentation of the material.
For this school year, we are planning to read "La casa de Mango Street" by Sandra Cisneros.
We are requesting copies of the book so that students can read from their desks and continue at home throughout the semester. Transitioning between the book and digital lessons on our board will open up the space for questions and discussion of themes surrounding Mexican heritage, the immigrant experience, and growing up between two cultures. These will be integrated into the Spanish learning experience making it more interesting and exciting for students.
