Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The items I am requesting will provide students with the resources they need to engage deeply with literacy activities. For example, the magnetic letters will help readers in phonics by providing a tactile and visual way to practice spelling. The headphones will allow students to listen to audiobooks and interact with online educational reading programs. The library bin organizers will help store all the library books for easy access. The Word Families Flip Books will help my students practice reading and spelling words within a specific sound pattern. These resources will make learning more interactive, foster a love for reading, and encourage students to develop their language skills in creative ways.

The goal of this project is to foster a passion for literacy in students and empower them with the skills to become confident readers and writers through the Science of Reading.

I aim to create a classroom environment that encourages exploration and self-expression through reading and writing. Ultimately, the project will help students improve their comprehension, vocabulary, and writing abilities, while also building their confidence in using language.

My students are unique in their diversity and curiosity. They come from a variety of backgrounds, each bringing their own experiences and perspectives to the classroom. Many of them are excited to learn but may not always have access to the resources or materials they need to fully explore their potential. Their enthusiasm for learning, coupled with their diverse abilities, creates a vibrant and dynamic classroom where every student has the opportunity to thrive. By fostering their literacy skills, I hope to help them build a foundation for success that will support their lifelong learning journey.
