Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project aims to get students thinking about literacy while using art materials in the classroom. The project funds, crayons, watercolor paint, and watercolor paper.

Our students are bilingual and bi-literate students; students will read Peter Reynold's The Word Collector and choose a word (in English or Spanish) to represent them using art to express their word.

Beyond this lesson, the supplies will be used within our entire school building during our specials' art time serving students Kinder through 5th grade. Thank you for your consideration. I can't wait to see the words our students choose to represent through art!
