Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students never seize to amaze me with their resilience and enthusiasm to learn. I teach a Preschool for All Learners class. My students have developmental delays (Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Specific Learning Disabilities, and Speech and Language delays), with different strengths and abilities. They are a mixture of inquisitive minds and artistic talent, and just love to learn.
My Project
My students enjoy being read to and having a listening center will provide them the experience of being read a book when an adult is not readily available. Imagine the joy of hearing their favorite story being read by their teacher any time that the choose. I plan to record myself reading their favorite books on a CD so that they may hear their favorite stories in a way that they are used to being heard. The magic boards, alpha bots, and letter manipulatives will help support my students in learning the alphabet in a fun way. The sequencing cards will help reinforce the skill of explaining what happened first, second and last which will help develop their recall of familiar stories.
