Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Resources like task cards, foldables, games, and interactive notes (printed on fun colored paper with stickers for successful practice and completion!) offer huge benefits for students who need additional support with literacy skills.
The students in my intervention class (a class to offer extra support in reading) asked for targeted skills practice.
They knew that they felt more confident in their skills when they had a chance to practice those skills in bite-sized chunks, supporting each other and getting help from me in a small-group setting. Once we integrated these types of activities (in fun ways like stations, scavenger hunts, and escape rooms) into their practice, their confidence improved, as did their standardized test scores. This project for a TPT gift card will help me build my library of effective practice activities to be able to individualize learning based on the skills and interests of my students this year.
