My Students
I teach 5th grade English Language Arts in an urban school district where 95% of my students are economically disadvantaged. My students come to school every day prepared and hungry for new information and learning experiences. Together, we have created a warm, safe, and caring environment that encourages stepping outside of your comfort zone and trying new things.
My students love to read and write.
They enjoy exploring and imagining new and exciting possibilities through the books they read and the stories they write.
My Project
These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library is a place that my students really enjoy. My students treat the books with love and care. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind. The students will be able to choose books that interest them for independent classroom reading and home reading.
The students will enjoy the new flexible seating with stools in the classroom.
This new seating will give them the opportunity to relax while they independently read. It will also provide them with seating options during small group reading instruction and writing collaboration.
