Literacy or Bust

My students need 6 sets of alphabet magnetic letters, 6 sets of alphabet stamps, 6 magnetic dry erase boards, and 6 Toobaloos.

This project is fully funded

My first grade classroom sits in an urban area of North Carolina. The students who are in my classroom come from various backgrounds and have very unique needs. Students in my room range from students with disabilities to students who are academically gifted.

Due to the unique needs of my students, I teach guided reading. While students are in literacy centers, I call groups of students to read with me who are of similar abilities. The rest of the class works in literacy centers with a literacy focus. Currently students are very bored with the materials they are currently using. They complete their tasks, but I can tell they are tired of the same centers each week.

I need materials for the literacy centers. Things like magnetic letters, letter stamps and a white board will make the centers both engaging and educational. The materials I have asked for will help resolve this problem. The centers will be more engaging and allow for students to learn with their peers while having fun.

Your help will ensure that my students will be in literacy centers that are more entertaining, as well as, educational. I know the resources will bring smiles on their faces. The students will definitely become eager learners of literacy once they receive the materials.
