This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students struggle making connections to real world experiences.

My students love to learn about things they experience.

They love technology, but our school only has three computers in each classroom. With 22 students, three computers is not effective. My students love to experience new things and current events really drive them.

My Project

Getting 10 Amazon Fire tablets will provide my students with an immediate way to connect with the real world. Real world connections help bridge the gap between what experiences they have had to new experiences they will learn about. My students will use these tablets to complete literacy activities, do research, learn about current events, and practice all subject areas with a variety of apps.

My students have very few experiences outside of their hometown.

Learning to use technology will prepare them for their future and let them experience more of the world within the safety of their classroom.
